Elizabeth Jane Jones or "Libby" as her loved ones called her, age 66 of Clermont, passed away
unexpectedly on August 6, 2016. Born Sept. 8, 1949, Libby, daughter of Bob and Sue Pool and
Razz and Eileen Bowen, was a member of what is considered "old Clermont". A graduate of
Clermont High School, Libby was married to Daniel W. (Mary) Jones for 16 years and raised
three beautiful children-Brad, Dax, and Danielle.
From early on in her life, Libby enjoyed traveling and camping. She was no stranger to
"roughing it in the wilderness" and embarked on many great adventures and camping trips
which included almost every state park in Texas and even a month abroad in Africa. Libby
worked for Duke Energy as a right-of- way agent and retired 5 years ago. She relocated from
Texas back to Clermont where her passion for gardening and growing things took off. Libby was
an avid gardener and enjoyed sharing her passion and stories of gardening and farming with her
family and friends.
Libby grew up surrounded by her brothers and sisters, cousins, and friends and many stories
have been shared again reiterating everything that made Libby so special in so many people's
eyes -her humor, her beauty, her strength, her love of life. She had a smile that lit up a room
and laugh you would recognize long before you ever had the honor or privilege of laying eyes
on her.
Surviving are children Brad (Vicki) Jones (grandchildren Samantha and Colby), Dax (Melissa
Hazzard) Jones, Danielle Jones, and Tirza Ebanks. Siblings Bob (Bev) Pool, Dan (Elaine) Pool,
Nancy Ingersoll, Alan (Katherine) Pool, Sarah (Keith) Hogan, Michael Pool, Polly (Mark)
Strawbridge, and Shelly (Bryan) Young. 17 nieces and nephews and numerous cousins. She is
preceded in death by Craig Bowen (brother), Mathew Ingersoll (nephew), maternal
grandparents Jake and Grace Moore and paternal grandparents Morris and Eldora Bowen.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that you please consider living plants and/or re-
potable plants/trees that will be planted to create a memory garden at her home or monetary donations in her name
to Esther Moms of Orlando or the Russel Home of Orlando.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on August 13 at 4pm in the Sanctuary of the First
United Methodist Church of Clermont (950 7 th Street, Clermont, FL 34711). Following the
service, please join the family at 12530 Lake View Lane, Clermont for the receiving of family and
