Elaine M. Pridgeon, 73, of Clermont, Florida passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at home while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland on April 12, 1941, the daughter of Anthony and Emma Kujawski. Elaine is survived by her husband, George F. Pridgeon, of 52 years; her three daughters, Kathy and husband, Wesley Smith of Spring, Texas; Kelly DeLuca of Oviedo, Florida; and Patricia and husband, Terry Welch of Schertz, Texas; five grandchildren, Ryne Smith (23), Jordan Smith (20), Madison Tucker (18), Miranda Welch (19) and Taryn Welch (7); her sister, Doris and husband, Emanuel Alcantara and her niece Joyce Knox of Durham, North Carolina. Elaine moved to Leesburg in 1983 and to Clermont in 2000. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren the most and watching their numerous swim, soccer and dance events. She also enjoyed traveling and was always the first to raise her hand for any adventure. She was involved in the Ladies Golf Association at Green Valley Country Club and was a volunteer for the Pilot Club of Sumter County. She was a true friend to everyone she met and always thought of others before herself. The celebration of Elaine's life will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 11AM at Becker Funeral Home in Clermont, FL. The celebration will continue immediately following the services at Green Valley Country Club, Clermont, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in Elaine's name to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778.
