Effie B. Smith, 88, of Clermont, Fl., died March 23, 2015 from complications of pneumonia. She was born in Stilson, Georgia and lived most of her adult life in Brunswick, Georgia. She became a registered nurse in 1947 and served proudly in the profession for over 55 years. She was a beloved member of First Baptist Church of Clermont for many years. She was an amazing woman who often volunteered her time and energy to organizations such as The American Red Cross and Hospice. She was married for 50 years to William Howard (Pete) Smith who predeceased her in November 1997. She is survived by her two daughters, Kay Smith Morris and husband Tom Morris of Orlando, Fl., Nina Smith and partner Mary Nason of Jacksonville, Fl., Two grandchildren, Scott Morris and Julie Morris of Orlando Florida, and Two Great Grandsons, Grey Scott Morris and Jackson Palmer Morris of Orlando, Fl. In Lieu of Flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cornerstone Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation.
