Edward Ward Sheeley, 70, of Groveland (Bay Lake), FL & Three Oaks, MI passed away August 19, 2012 while under the care of Hospice, with his family at his bedside. He was born November 21, 1941 in LaPorte, IN, to Elwood Carl Sheeley & Jessie Davis Sheeley. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Cuban Missile Crisis. On June 5, 1965, he was united in marriage to Della Mae Burns in Springville, IN. He retired from the Indiana Toll Road, where he worked heavy equipment & maintenance for 34 years. He & Della were Florida "snowbirds" for the last six years and members of Bay Lake Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by both his parents and his infant sister, Virginia. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Della Mae Sheeley; son, Pastor Darrell Sheeley & wife Marcia of Bay Lake; daughter, Jeannie Woodworth & husband Kris of Harrison, MI; grandchildren, Kyle Sheeley & wife Mary, Alicia Sheeley, Kori, Taryn, Riley & Dayna Woodworth; great-grandson, Sean Sheeley; & two sisters, Ellen Sokolowski of Three Oaks & Jane Gilley of Niles, MI.



The funeral service for Edward Sheeley will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 24, 2012, at Bay Lake Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Darrell Sheeley, Pastor Edwin Button & Brother Kyle Sheeley will participate in the service. Burial will follow at 1:30 pm at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Thursday at the church.
