Edward E. Holmes, 82, of Groveland, FL, passed away Monday, April 6, 2020.  He was a loving Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather.  Edward was married to Abbie U. Holmes since 1958.  He was an U.S. Army Veteran and he owned Holmes Grove Service of Groveland with his wife Abbie since 1961.  Edward was a hard worker, he would help anyone that he could.

Edward is survived by daughter, Linda (Fred) Thomas of Groveland; grandkids, Christopher (Candace) Thomas and Jennifer (Luke Evans) Thomas both of Groveland; great grandkids, David (Rhiannon Mason), Justin, Dalton, Dana, Audrey and Bristol of Groveland; and sister, Geraldine (Ken) Holmes Buschbacher of Plant City, FL.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil E. Holmes of Alabama who passed away in 1963 at the age of 55.  His mother, Eunice F. Caylor Holmes of Defuniak Springs, FL passed away in 1970 at the age of 56.  He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Dallas Oneal Holmes of Mascotte, FL who passed away in 2012 at the age of 81; Shirley Ledene Holmes Bess of Haines City, FL who passed away in 2004 at the age of 69; Carl Fredrick Holmes of Georgia who passed away in 2014 at the age of 74 and Charles Ronald Holmes of Groveland, FL who passed away in 1993 at the age of 50.

Interment will be private at Mascotte Empire Church Cemetery, Groveland, FL.
