IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward
Bridges
October 31, 1951 – January 15, 2026
Edward Bridges, beloved husband, father, brother, and uncle, passed away peacefully on January 15th at 10:44 a.m., entering eternal rest and reuniting with his beloved wife, Jennie, in the presence of the Lord.
Edward was the devoted husband of Jennie Bridges, whom he married on April 20th, 1972. Together, they shared nearly five decades of marriage built on love, perseverance, and faith. They raised their two sons, Eric Nicholas Bridges and Mathew Ryan Bridges, in Clermont, Florida, where Edward worked hard to provide for his family and instill in his boys the values of loyalty, responsibility, and strength.
Edward was a man of deep faith who believed firmly in God's promises. Though quiet in his expression, his faith guided his life, sustained him through loss, and gave him peace in knowing that this life was not the end. He loved his family fiercely and carried the role of husband and father as his greatest calling. His bond with Jennie was unshakeable, and his heart longed for the day they would be reunited—a promise he now joyfully fulfills.
In his final years, Edward was cared for by his nephew, Heath Dorn, whose presence, dedication, and support were a comfort to him and will always be remembered with gratitude by the family. Edward also shared a special bond with his niece, Stella Dawn Tello, whom he loved and regarded as a daughter, holding her close to his heart as family in every sense of the word.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie Bridges, and is survived by his sons, Eric and Mathew, along with his extended family including brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many loved ones who were blessed to know him.
Edward will be laid to rest on January 30th at Green Pond Baptist Church. Services will begin at 12:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate his life, honor his faith, and rejoice in the assurance that he is now whole, healed, and at peace in God's eternal care.
Edward's legacy lives on through his sons and through the love, faith, and devotion he modeled throughout his life. While he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that he now rests in heaven, reunited with Jennie, and welcomed home by his Savior.
