Edgar O. Prout, Jr., 78, Clermont, passed away December 10, 2011 at his residence. He was born June 23, 1933 in Teaneck, NJ son of Edgar & Elizabeth Freligh Prout. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. On September 17, 1955 he was united in marriage to Ottilie Muhler in Wood-Ridge, NJ. He was a retired Plastics Engineer. A local resident since 1993 from Pearland, TX, he was a member of Windermere Union Church United Church of Christ; member Blue & Gold Officers USNA for 22 years & senior member American Society of Plastics Engineers. His brother Richard Prout preceded him in death. Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Ottilie Muhler Prout; daughters & their spouses, Barbara A. Young, husband Daniel of Burlington, MA; Deborah Proust, husband Nelson Wesley Smith, Fresno, TX; Nancy Brooks, husband Donald, Victoria, MN & Linda Storey, husband Edward of Mashpee, MA; grandchildren Laura & Mark Young; Alex & Nicholas Storey & Ryan Brooks.



The funeral service for Edgar Prout will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Windermere Union Church United Church of Christ, 10710 Park Ridge-Gotha Road, Windermere, FL 34786. Reverend Barton Buchanan will officiate. Burial will follow in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be directed to his church at the above address.
