Obituary

Our Dear Father, Dusty Ray Lindley (Clyde), sadly passed away on August 20, 2025, at the age of 69. Dusty was a wonderful Father, Son, Brother, Grandfather and Papa. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Dennis and Edna Lindley, his brother- In- Law, Alan Johnson Jr, three Aunt's; Ann Carter, Betty Shoppell, and Kathy Finn, three Uncles; Jim Finn, Mick Finn, and Ronnie Finn, and two Grandchildren; Eldon McMenamin, and Kaleigh McMenamin.

Dusty leaves behind his loving wife of 36 years, Rhea Joan Lindley, three children: Melissa McMenamin (Edward Jr.), Rebecca Bohm, Elijah Millard (Bobbi Yager), and nine grandchildren: Eldon McMenamin, Kaleigh McMenamin, Ryleigh McMenamin, Gavyn McMenamin, Avery Bohm, Cassidee Millard, Aviana Millard, Emma Millard, and Jordan Millard whom he loved and cherished very much. Dusty also leaves behind his loving sisters Diane Houghton (Wes), Pamela Nyen (Gerald Nyen), and Debra Johnson (Alan Johnson Jr.) and his loving brother, Randy Lindley and loving nieces and nephews.

Dusty served in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Sergeant, later working on active-duty aircraft carriers as an aviation mechanic. Later in life, Dusty worked at Barber Coleman in Rockford Illinois for many years along with his mother, Father and two of his siblings, Diane Houghton and Randy Lindley. After retiring from Barber Coleman, Dusty pursued one of his many passions, working as a Motorcycle Mechanic in Rockford, Illinois. He then continued his career, sharing his wealth of knowledge as an Auto Mechanic, Tow Truck Driver, and Auto Parts Salesperson at Tony's Wrecker service in South Beloit. Dusty and Rhea then moved to the State of Florida where he worked at Napa Auto Parts and Advanced Auto Parts in Winter Garden.

Throughout his life, Dusty enjoyed many things, including riding motorcycles with his biker friends (who referred to him as "Clyde"), building motorcycles (his Plum Crazy Chopper), building numerous Muscle Cars (his AMC Javelin, Z28 Camaro, and his favorite most recent project car; his Dodge Challenger). Dusty also enjoyed going to car shows, playing his guitar, doing any kind of carpentry, and working on his parent's house and their seasonal camper at Blackhawk Campgrounds. He was a passionate Hobbyist and Collector. Dusty was also an avid Gun Enthusiast and a member of the NRA. Perhaps Dusty's greatest passion was spending time with his grandchildren and sharing all the wisdom and knowledge he possessed with them. He loved to help mentor and teach anyone willing to learn, and his wealth of intelligence was unsurpassed. He also loved animals including his dogs Snickers, Wiggles and LuLu, and his mother's bird, Charlie.

Dusty was the most compassionate man with the kindest heart. He will be deeply mourned and missed by everyone.

Dusty will be buried at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida on January 30, 2026.
