IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dorothy Louise
Pennington Stewart
January 28, 1937 – January 4, 2019
Dorothy Louise Pennington Stewart, age 81, passed away in Clermont, Florida surrounded by her loving family on January 4, 2019. She resided with her daughter and son-in-law, Edna and David Bennett.
She was born January 28, 1937 in Carter County, Kentucky to the late Farris and Chloe Lee (Porter) Pennington. Also, preceding her in death, was her loving husband Reese Stewart on October 24, 1988.
She is survived by her sons: Reese Stewart (Julie) and Paul Stewart (Jaime), daughters: Sandra Harrison (Herbert), Edna Bennett (David), Dorothy Attardo and Marie Koen, sixteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Her greatest joy in life was her family. In later years, she became passionate about preserving her family history. She was a direct descendant of Ephraim Pennington I (1620 - 1660), a prominent member of the New Haven Colony in Massachusetts. His signature can be found among the "Proprietor's Records". Dorothy's ancestors include Revolutionary and Civil War patriots. Her father Farris Pennington was a prominent citizen in Willard, Kentucky. He served as a school trustee, deputy sheriff and Justice of the Peace.
In lieu of flowers, she has requested that donations be made to Saint Jude's Hospital.
