Davenport, Fl - Dorothy May Miller Varnum, 95, died 1.25.2013 at The Crossroads, Davenport, Florida. Dorothy was born on March 5, 1917, Brockton. MA. Graduate from Brockton High school class of 1935. Dorothy spent her life as a homemaker and enjoyed playing the organ and the violin. Dorothy was a secretary for Central Methodist Church and later Cheer Leader Director for the girl's cheerleaders for the Central Methodist Church boy's basketball team. It was 1937 that she married her husband Fred at Central Methodist Church, Brockton. Dorothy enjoyed travel and family get together. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. William Miller and husband of 71 years Frederick Wallace Varnum. Dorothy remaining family includes her children, Frederick William and his wife Roberta of Morrisville, NC, Gary W of Bridgewater, MA and Peter Wayne and his wife Marlene of Tampa FL; grand children F. Scott and his wife Susanne of Cary, NC, Robert R and his wife Rae of Watertown, MA, Mark E and his wife Patricia of Melrose, MA, Shayne D and his wife Christine of Bridgewater, MA, Noelle K of Raynham, MA; great grand children: Stephen E, Lucas N, Stella N,, Michael J, Stephen M, Tammy L, Kayla M, Ashley E, Caitlyn R  and Juliana M Baroni, as well as other relatives and friends who loved her greatly.



Services for Mrs. Varnum will be held at Becker Funeral Home, 2/1/2013 at 2:00 PM, 806 West Minneola Ave, Clermont, FL. Arrangements by Becker Funeral Home and Crematory, 806 West Minneola Ave, Clermont, Fl. Her remains will be interment in the St. Michaels Archangel Church Columbarium, Cary, NC.
