Obituary
Dorothy I. Mello, 87, of Minneola, FL passed away Sunday, August 18 2019. Dorothy was born on October 17, 1931 in Lowell, MA, daughter of Herman and Helen Turcotte. She was a resident of South Lake County since 1998, previously living in St. Cloud, FL and longtime resident of Massachusetts. She was a homemaker and member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Clermont.
Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Joseph Mello, III of Pepperell, MA, Margie Mello of Lowell, MA, Kathy Caruso of Hoschton, GA, Jim Mello of Lowell, MA, Mary Johnson of Newmarket, NH and Angela Mello of Clermont, FL; sisters, Mary O'Connell of Bellingham, MA and Maude Therrien of Osceola County, FL; 13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Dorothy enjoyed reading, the challenge of word search puzzles, watching cooking competitions and classic movies. She loved outings to Universal Studios and had a special affection for the Minion characters. Her adventurous spirit brought her to Woodstock Rock Festival 50 years ago to the day of her passing. She was proud of the number of grandchildren and great grandchildren that she was blessed to have and always enjoyed when they came to Florida to visit her. She will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.
