Dorothy A Matthews, 72, passed away December 19th 2025 at South Lake Hospital in Clermont, Fl. She was born Dorothy Bettker Jan 24th, 1953 in Newburgh, NY. She was retired from West Point Tours, where she worked for over 30 years as a bus driver. She loved her family, her pets, and her kids from the bus. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her long time companion Robert McMillan, her loving children Chrystal Spencer, William Padgett and Tiffany Padgett, as well as her grandchildren Samantha Youmans, Kayla Youmans, Charles Youmans, Lonnie Youmans, Alexander Rodriguez, Joshua Rodriguez, and Tristan Padgett, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by both her parents, Alfred and Eleanor Bettker.
A memorial celebration will be held Saturday Jan 24, 2026 from 1pm-4pm at the American Legion 29 Walnut St New Windsor NY 12553. Cremation was done by Becker Funeral Home in Clermont Fl. Donations can be made to The National Kidney Foundation, The American Cancer Society, or any Animal Rescue or Shelter of your choice.
