Obituary
Dorothy Scott Hayes, 95, of Clermont, Florida, passed away on November 10, 2017. Dorothy was born on October 5, 1922 in Cambridge, MA, daughter of the late Victor A. and Catherine B. Scott. Dorothy spent her career in the area of finance serving as an income tax consultant, CFO of South Lake Hospital, and CFO of Florida Select Citrus. She belonged to many Clermont community and service organizations throughout her life and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, using her expertise on its Finance Committee for many years.
Dorothy left a legacy through her devotion and dedication to family, friends, and coworkers. Throughout her life, she mirrored generosity, care, and concern for others. Her leadership and knowledge throughout her career was respected and acknowledged throughout all professional endeavors. Dorothy's priority was love and support for her family, always there when needed to celebrate accomplishments, special occasions, and to provide support through life's difficult moments. She loved her family deeply and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Brandon and Gavin and great-grandchild, Callie.
Her husband (A.J. Hayes), sister (Irene Whitlock), brother (Thomas Scott), and daughter (Cathy) preceded her in death. Surviving are her daughters Linda L. Hayes; Diana H. Brown, Clermont; grandchildren Brandon (Therese) Brown, Clermont; Gavin, Astoria, NY; great- grandchild, Callie, Clermont. Private family graveside service at Garden of Memories, Webster, FL, November 17.
