IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dorothy K
Dinapoli
September 3, 1937 – October 21, 2024
Dorothy, "Dotty", Knoll DiNapoli, born on September 3, 1937 in New Haven, Connecticut, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on October 21, 2024 at the Mike Conley Hospice House in Clermont, Florida.
Dotty and her loving husband, Tony, met at work - the Olin Corporation- where she was a secretary and he was a chemist. Their first date was a movie and thereafter is history. Dotty grew up in West Haven, Connecticut and also resided in Wallingford and Cheshire, Connecticut. After spending a few years in Signal Mountain, Tennessee, they retired to Clermont, Florida so Tony could play golf year round and they could be closer to their grandchildren. As members of the Kings Ridge Golf Club, Dotty developed a love for mahjong where she played in several clubs weekly. Along with mahjong, Dotty was an avid reader and was always searching out new recipes to read and try. She always had a kind word for everyone and would happily do anything for her family, with her whole heart put into it.
Dotty leaves behind a legacy of kindness and strength. She was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Olga Knoll, her in-laws, Domenic and Ersilia, "Elsie" DiNapoli, her sister and brother-in-law, Sonja and Guy Payne, her brother, Hank Knoll, and her brother-in-law, Alfio Graceffa. She leaves behind heartbreak to her husband of 62 years, Anthony Robert DiNapoli, a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Debbie DiNapoli of Wethersfield, Connecticut, a daughter Karen DiNapoli and her fiancé, Joseph Norato, of Fort Myers, Florida, a grandson, Ryan Early of Nashville, Tennessee, a granddaughter, Sara Early of Fort Myers, Florida, and a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Joseph Corbin, of Las Vegas, Nevada. She also leaves behind a dear sister-in-law, Theresa Graceffa of Reading, Massachusetts and a very special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Thomas and Robin DiNapoli of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, five nieces and nephews, along with countless friends who felt her warmth, love and generosity.
A local mass has yet to be scheduled. A mass and Christian burial will be held in Providence, Rhode Island in the spring of 2025. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Cornerstone Mike Conley Hospice House. They went above and beyond ensuring that both our mother and our family were as comfortable as possible, knowing our needs before we knew them ourselves.
