Dorothy Jean Campbell, 89 of Largo, Florida (formerly from Lima, Ohio) died April 19, 2014 following a long-term illness.
She was born February 5, 1925 in Gallia, Ohio to Dan and Pearl (nee Slagle) Alban who preceded her in death. She was a 1943 graduate of Cadmus (Ohio) High School.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Franklin George Campbell, a son, Franklin George Campbell, Jr. of Largo, Florida, and her sister, Margaret Pauline (Polly) Lane of Clermont, Florida.
Survivors include a loving son, Philip Evan Campbell, of Largo, Florida and grandson, Franklin George Campbell, III of Ocala, Florida. Also surviving are her very special sisters, Eileen (Razz) Bowen and Phyllis Simms both of Clermont, Florida and her many nieces and nephews.
Her passions were bowling, reading, crossword puzzles, and in the old days, she enjoyed square dancing. She was most happy when sharing precious time with her sisters and extended family.
She was born and raised in one of the most loving homes one can imagine, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 PM Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the Becker Funeral Home in Clermont, Florida.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Becker Funeral Home, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM prior to the service. Interment to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Clermont, Florida.
