IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dorothy Ann
Boaz
October 12, 1933 – June 11, 2019
Dorothy "Dottie" Ann Boaz, age 85, of Tarpon Springs, Florida passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 in Tarpon Springs, Florida. She was born on October 12, 1933 in Rockaway, New Jersey to Archibald and Helen Hoffman. Dottie was a homemaker. She is survived by her daughter, Debbi Spiegel of New Jersey, son, Calvin Wayne Boaz of Tarpon Springs, Florida, niece, Sheree Barros-Smith of Viera, Florida, sisters; Betty Hanson of New Jersey and Helen Mantooth of Clermont, Florida, grandchildren; Sean Patrick Courtney, Meghan Kathleen Courtney and Daniel Robert Courtney all residing in New Jersey. Dottie was preceded by death by her husband, Calvin Boaz, sister, Everlyn Whitley and brother, Author Hoffman.
Dottie was truly one of a kind and one in a million. She loved NASCAR and she was one of the biggest fans of Dale Earnhardt, Jr. She loved chocolate covered cherries and a good "7 and 7" (which must be made with 7 Up not Sprite). Dottie was spunky, outgoing, funny and a bold woman. She loved her children and grandchildren and adored her niece, Sheree. Dottie and her sister Helen were the best of friends. Every week they went to the beauty parlor and had their hair styled and nails painted. After the beauty parlor, a trip to LongHorn Steakhouse was in order.
Dottie will be greatly missed by so many. Her memory will live in our hearts forever. Her stories will be shared for years to come. She is at peace now and she is with God. No pain, no worries, truly free. Dottie's family would like to express their gratitude to her caregiver, Rhonda Tucker. She was truly a blessing to Dottie and her family.
Flowers should be delivered to Becker Funeral Home, 806 W. Minneola Avenue in Clermont, Florida. Should friends like to donate to a charity in lieu of flowers, please donate in Dottie's name to The Disabled American Veterans at www.dav.org or through any office location.
