Dr. Donald Urey, 85, of Minneola, Florida, passed away at the Cornerstone Hospice House in Clermont on June 17, 2021.

He was born in Lancaster, PA, and gave his life for full-time Christian ministry at the age of 12.  He received his B.S. in Biblical Education from Washington Bible College, Washington, DC; his M.A. in Biblical Education from Columbia Bible College Graduate School, Columbia, SC, and his D. Min from Western Conservative Baptist Seminary, Portland, OR.

Dr. Urey has served the Lord in pastoral, educational, and administrative ministries.  He began his pastoral ministry in 1957 as a student pastor at Calvary Baptist Church, Woodbridge, VA; and has pastured Central Baptist Church, Burlington, NC; Calvary Bible Church, Mt. Joy, PA; Faith Calvary Church, Bausman, PA; First Baptist Church, Lebanon, PA; Hydewood Park Baptist Church, North Plainfield, NJ; and Lake Center Bible Church, Portage, MI.  After retiring in 2000, he was interim pastor in eight churches in the Midwest.

His educational ministry consisted of Professor of Bible and Theology and Dean of Students at Lancaster Bible College, Lancaster, PA; Professor and Chairman of the Pastoral Studies Department at Philadelphia College, of Bible; Philadelphia, PA; and Academic Dean, Executive Vice President, and President of Calvary Bible College, Kansas City, MO.  His administrative ministry consisted of serving as General Director of Berean Mission, Inc, St. Louis, MO.

He is survived by his loving wife, Delores, of 65 years, and their daughter and son-in-law Ron and Karen Bloom, and grandchildren, Cory and Nicole Bloom.

He will be remembered for his love for his family and for the joy in preaching and teaching God's Word.
