Donald "Don, Donny, Grimmy" Duane Grim, 79, passed away February 21, 2023 in Clermont, Fl. He was born January 30, 1944 in Ft Wayne, In. to Forest and Helen Grim. He grew up in Zanesville, In. and graduated from Union Center High School. After graduation he went to work at General Electric in Ft Wayne and retired after 35 years of service.
Don was an avid sports fan, playing throughout high school and into his adulthood. He shared this love of sports with his children and grandchildren. He was their biggest fan who never missed an event, and he could frequently be found in the coaching role. He enjoyed spending time with his family boating, skiing and eventually taking up golf.
He married Sandy in 1995, and moved to the Clermont area in 2009 to enjoy the Florida lifestyle. He was a kind, loving, supportive husband, father, grandfather and friend to everyone and he will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Susan, his parents Forest and Helen Grim, his sister Nina Hoopingarner and his brother Ronald Grim.
He was the beloved husband of Sandra Grim (Wiley), loving father of Jeff Grim (Rhonda), daughters Sheri Horman and Shelly Ratliff (Tony), stepsons Todd Ummel and Tobie Ummel (Kim), devoted grandfather of Dustin Grim (Becca), Dana Shidler (Brent), Whitney McKinley, Chase Horman, Sydney Horman, Logan Horman (Angelina), Jillian Palazzolo, Nicole Palazzolo and step granddaughter Megan Caswell (Nick), 12 great grandchildren and one on the way. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Marilyn Grim and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be announced.
