Donald E. Burris, 85, went to be with Our Lord February 14, 2015. Born in Wapella, IL May 5, 1929 retired to Clermont since 1987. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Ida Burris, wife of 48 years Patricia Gehlbach, brothers Leonard (Edwinnie), Thomas (Florence), Jackson (Nina), Robert (Betty). Donald is survived by his brother Corwin (Judy) Burris, sister Betty Jean McCubbin, his loving wife Evelyn of 15 years and their combined children Donald Jr. (Barbara), Mike (Jeanie), Renee Jones, Julie (Ron) Willis, Joe (Judy) Alderman, Gail (Bill) Mann, Shirley Hart, Janet (Jack) Pacheco, Judy (Larry) Schaefer, 15 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. Don was well known as a dedicated volunteer in many local organizations and honored for his 20 year service at South Lake Hospital. He was a 32nd degree Mason and served as a Worshipful Master of Clinton Lodge in 1969.



Visitation will be held at Becker Funeral Home Thursday, February 19 from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday February 20 at 11 AM at South Lake Presbyterian Church, Clermont, FL. Interment will be held in Clinton, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South Lake Hospital Auxiliary or the Music Department of South Lake Presbyterian.
