Dilrani Rena Etkins was born July 7, 1939, to Geram and Ellen Gobin in Essequibo, Guyana. Dilrani was the 6 th and last child for her parents. At a very early age, Dilrani developed a passion for crocheting. This passion she perfected over the years and was transferred into her adult life. She knitted various extravagant styles for her porcelain dolls. Her home was always lavishly decorated with her porcelain dolls modeling her craftmanship of knitting. She got married to her lifelong husband George Woodbury Etkins, Sr. at the age of 18 years old. Since then, she became a dedicated wife and mother to her 8 sons. Together they built a life that was rich with love and adventure. In her later years, she migrated with her family to the United States of America where she continued to work hard to provide for her family. Her most recent employment was with Orlando Health Hospital where she served for 25 years.

Dilrani Rena Etkins at 81 years of age went home to her Savior on December 4, 2020. She died peacefully with her children around her bedside at Advent Health Hospital in Apopka, Florida. In addition to rejoining her immediate family in heaven, she will also be reunited with her husband of 47 glorious years and her son Gregory who preceded her many years ago.

The wonderful memories that Dilrani has created over the years will be cherished by her sons and their families; Andre Etkins, Daryll (Monica) Etkins, Warren Etkins (Josephine), George Jr. (Elisa) Etkins,  Robin (Davely) Etkins, Renamy (Venetia) Etkins, Lawton Etkins, 27 grandchildren, seven (7) great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
