Obituary

Diane Tomer Brown of Saint Cloud passed away on May 5, 2026, at the age of 92 after a long illness. She is survived by five children—Teresa Piper, Kathryn Edmundson, Susan Alvarez, Douglas Brown, and David Brown—along with seven grandchildren and two great‑grandchildren.

A long‑time Floridian, Diane graduated from St. Cloud High School and later attended the University of Florida and Auburn University, earning degrees in History and English. She became an English teacher at a Kissimmee middle school and is remembered fondly by former students.

Diane was married to the late Dr. Don Brown for 62 years. They enjoyed life on a small farm in Kissimmee, where they cared for a wide variety of animals and raised their children. In their final years together, Diane and Don resided at Alligator Lake in Saint Cloud, where they found joy in its wildlife, sunsets, and natural beauty.

Diane was a woman of deep Christian faith and attended the Methodist Church for most of her life. She was an active member of the Silver Spurs Club and the philanthropic organization PEO. She loved traveling with family throughout the United States and overseas.

Diane was a woman of grace, intellect, and quiet strength. She loved her family, gardening, birding, nature, reading, and playing piano. She was an excellent cook and hosted memorable holiday gatherings. She gave generously to her family, her community, and her church. She will be remembered fondly in the beauty of nature and in every life she touched.
