Delza Elizabeth "Liz" Weirich (Helton-Shibler)

Liz passed peacefully in the early morning hours of February 20, 2018 after a short but fierce battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family during the last weeks and days of her life at home and in Hospice Care.

Liz was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana in 1934 and was the second of six children. She grew up in Texas, but has lived in Florida since 1986. She was a successful real estate agent and placed as one of the top female real estate agent in Houston for many years. She also worked as a homemaker, baker for her children's school, full-time nanny, event co-ordinator and co-owned a local cleaning service.

Liz is survived by her husband, Bill Shibler and her three children (and their spouses): Steve Point (Tammy), Gary Point (Sherry) and David Helton (Pamela); eight grandchildren Dickie and James Harbour, Alisha Cantrell, Michael and Anthony Point, Bradley Helton, Lisa Ryan and Jessica Rodriguez; 14 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sister, Carol Overton (Danny) and her brother Wayne Weirich (Amy). She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Bryant Helton, and her brothers: Dan, Ira, and Paul.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Mike Conley Hospice House-Cornerstone (2100 Oakley Seaver Drive, Clermont, FL 34711). They provided remarkable care for Liz during her last days. Their compassion and attention to detail will forever be appreciated by those closest to Liz during her last days.
