IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Debra Ann
Dyer
September 10, 1961 – February 17, 2023
Debra Ann Dyer, born on September 10, 1961 in Detroit, Michigan, passed peacefully in her sleep on February 17, 2023, after long term medical complications due to Multiple System Atrophy.
Debbie was a graduate of Novi High School in Michigan, and attended College at Northwest University and Oakland Community College in Michigan. Although being from Michigan, she spent over half of her life in Florida, and would frequently say that she missed the changing leaves, but never missed the snow. She had a long and successful career as a Commercial Landscape Project Manager in Central Florida working on all types of projects from schools to theme parks. Much of her personal time was dedicated to the Masonic community, where she was known across the state as someone always willing to help. She was a Past Matron of the Mount Dora Order of East Star. Within the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, she had her Majority from Northville Assembly in Michigan, was a Special Deputy in Florida, served as an Advisory Board Member in Mount Dora from 1998-2022 and was the Mother Advisor for Mount Dora from 2008-2022. She always treated every girl in Rainbow as if they were her own daughter and loved each one with all her heart.
Debbie was a kind and loving woman, always willing to help where needed. She was very creative, loved to build, decorate, make cakes, and sew. Everyone loved her dearly but ran for the hills when they heard her say 'Hey, I got an idea'. She was very dedicated to whatever she was doing, but her main love was her growing family. She was blessed with three children and nine grandchildren. Although she had so many enjoyments in life, her greatest love were her grandchildren. Her only fear when she was diagnosed with MSA was that she would never be able to see or hold her grandchildren after she was gone. To this day many of her children/grandchildren's friends loved her as a second Mom/Grandma and sought her out for advice and counsel, especially when drawing diagrams to explain the topic at hand.
Debra Ann Dyer was predeceased by her husband James Richard Dyer, parents Edward and Winifred (Johnson) Dobek, brother Edward Dobek, and grandson Nicholas Giddens. She is survived by her children James II and Debra (Wirtz) Dyer, Riley and Barbara (Dyer) Giddens, John and Katherine (Dyer) Gottlieb, Grandchildren Noah Johnson, Jace Gottlieb, Jade Gottlieb, Kristopher Mock II, Ella Dyer, Jonathan Giddens, Matthew Giddens, Katharine Giddens and Michael Giddens.
