March 25, 1932 – August 30, 2017
David Moshinsky, 85, born and raised in Philadelphia, PA passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at his residence in Clermont, FL. David is survived by his soul-mate of 65 years Kathleen (nee Cohen) Moshinsky, three daughters Andrea Millman of Clermont, FL, Barbara Newman of Windermere, FL and Beth Gorry of Bethel, CT, grandchildren Layah Willis, Ryan Newman, Dan Gorry, Greg Newman and Evan Gorry as well as his great-grandchildren Kinsley Willis, Deklan (Ike) Willis and Hunter Willis. He is also survived by his two loving sisters Shirley Stanton and Doris Gindin both of Willamsburg, FL.
As a young man, he graduated from the prestigious Central High School which awarded him a B.A. degree. He also attended two years at Temple University before being drafted into the Army during the Korean Conflict where he was credited with providing water purification for the town of Nancy, France. Before moving to Florida for retirement, David held a long successful career as a Certified Financial Planner and District Sales Manager at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and CNA. He was awarded a CLU degree and CHFC certification early in his profession.
David was an avid reader and researcher of science, the origins of man and geo-political events. He is the author of the book "Things You Know That Are Not So: A Digest of Erroneous Popular Wisdom on History, Science." He also took on the difficult challenge of debating a well-known lawyer at UCF on intelligent design vs evolution.
Donations in his honor may be made to Hurricane Harvey Relief through the Salvation Army.
