David L. Becker, born in Youngstown, Ohio on October 6, 1944, the son of Joseph and Carrie Becker, and most recently a resident of Clermont, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2024 after a lengthy illness.

David lived for several years in Fort Lauderdale where he worked for Broward Factory Services repairing electrical appliances. After moving to Brooksville, he worked as an assistant manager for Eckard Drugs. He was an avid bowler, participating in various bowling leagues and tournaments in and around Brooksville. He was also a habitual fisherman and especially ocean fishing. Whenever time allowed, one could find David with his fishing tackle heading for either of the Florida coastlines.

David enjoyed taking his family with their camper to Jellystone Park to go camping. Traveling to the mountains in North Carolina and Georgia was also a favorite family activity. His favorite sports were baseball and football and he was a great fan of the Boston Red Sox.

David is survived by two daughters, Dawn M. Becker of Weymouth, Massachusetts, and Taja L. Howard of Harrison, Arkansas. He also leaves three grandchildren, two nephews and a niece. He also leaves a very close friend, George Mendenhall, Jr. who was like a part of his family. He was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen M. Becker (nee Randall). He was also predeceased by his brother, Ron, and his sister, Sandra Coupanger.

Final arrangements are being cared for by the Becker Funeral Home in Clermont.
