Daniel Lee Hunsinger, 57, of Clermont, FL passed away Sunday, August 2, 2020 at Advent Health Orlando.  Daniel was born on January 29, 1963 in Wilkes Barre, PA, son of Arnold and Ruth (nee Williams) Hunsinger.  The Hunsingers were a Navy family, moving many times when Dan was a boy, living in such places as Rome Italy where he attended kindergarten, Alaska, and New Orleans.  He graduated from Anne Arundel High School in Gambrells, MD.

Daniel served in the Air Force from 1982-2004 as an active duty member and reservist including serving in Okinawa and Operation Iraqi Freedom.  His second career began in 1990 as a member of the United States Postal Service.  He served as a mail carrier until January 2020, foregoing the option for early retirement.  Daniel loved his job and the wonderful people he worked with.

Daniel was passionate about traveling- his favorite place to visit was Germany. He never met a stranger- he made friends wherever he went.  He was an avid photographer, and his favorite subjects were his grandchildren.  He was an advanced scuba diver, and was certified as a rescue diver.  He loved craft beer, bad jokes, and a wide array of eclectic music.  He loved concerts, rock cruises, and his Jeep Wrangler.  He was a huge dog lover, his most beloved dog was Shiba.  He loved the Washington Redskins. He loved Halloween, scary movies, and TV shows such as "The Walking Dead" and "Vikings."  Daniel had a sweet tooth; his favorites were snickerdoodle cookies and sugary cereals and milk.

Daniel is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; daughters Britney Hunsinger-Raczkowski, Amanda Archer, Megan Hunsinger and Dayna Hunsinger all of South Lake County; step-daughter, Jessica Moody of Clermont; parents, Arnold and Ruth Hunsinger of Clermont; brother, David Hunsinger of Savannah, GA and grandchildren, Matthew, Jacob, Lena, Kylinn and Arabella.
