Connie Pearl Golden Walsworth passed away peacefully Friday, September 29, 2017 at Mike Conley Hospice House in Clermont, FL. Connie was born May 22, 1941 in Graceville, FL, the second of three children of R.C. and Connie Lane Golden. She spent her childhood in Graceville and Marianna, with many summers on her grandparents farm in Dothan, AL. As a teen she moved to Gainesville, FL and graduated from Gainesville High School in 1961. Connie met the love of her life, Danny Lee Walsworth while on a double date with someone else in Jacksonville, FL. They were married
six months later
in August 1965 in Gainesville, FL and she became a Navy wife. While Danny was in the Navy, they lived all over the country and the world, including Whidby Island, WA; Gulfport, Mississippi (where son Todd was born); Guantanamo, Cuba, (where son Lance was born); Athens, GA; Kinitra, Morocco; Springfield, Missouri; Fremont, California; Bremerton, WA; Iwakuni, Japan, and they finally landed back in Florida in 1978. Connie enjoyed being a stay at home mom and then working as a secretary for both Surin Construction in Clermont and the Orlando Auto Auction until she retired in 2002.
For Connie, family was everything. She kept in close touch with her siblings and nieces and nephews. As her mother aged, Connie became her full time caregiver for a time. Then when her youngest granddaughter Kendall was born, she took great joy in caring for her in her first years. Connie loved gospel and country music, flower arranging, and her soap operas, especially Guiding Light. Her love of family influenced her television watching also, as she followed Blue Bloods.
Connie's faith kept her going as her health declined and her prayers covered all of her family. She looked forward to Jesus calling her home. It is then that she will be reunited with her beloved Danny.
Connie is survived by two siblings, brother Cecil (Sara) Golden of Panama City, FL and Reba Delatte of Ocala, FL, her sons Todd Walsworth and Lance (Kristine) Walsworth, two granddaughters Sarah Schaeffer and Kendall Walsworth, her brother-in-law, Gary (Ruby) Walsworth of Springfield, Missouri, and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, R.C. Golden and Connie Lane Bishop, her beloved husband Danny Walsworth, his mother Rheuma Walsworth, and loving aunt and uncle, Billy and Vera Wingo.
