Clifford Bertram Strang, 90, of Clermont, FL passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at the Mike Conley Hospice House. He was born on August 20, 1921 in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of Clifford Benjamin and Mary (nee Drake) Strang. Clifford served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and moved to Orlando from Washington, D.C in 1957. Clifford was an engineer for Martin Marietta, retiring after working there for 30 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Clermont.
Clifford is survived by his sons Clifford B. Strang, Jr. and wife Virginia of Boca Raton, FL and Robert W. Strang and wife Patricia of Warminster, PA; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kathryn, Bryan, Melissa, Melinda and Meredith; great grandchildren Riley, Emma, Jack, Brandon, Zoei and Ryan and sister Joyce Starnes and husband Luther of Columbia, MD. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Miriam on May 31, 2009.
A Celebration of Clifford's life will be held at 5PM Sunday at the First United Methodist Church, Clermont. Reverend David Paul officiating. Interment will be held at 11AM Monday in Orlando's historic Greenwood Cemetery. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorials in Clifford's name to the Mike Conley Hospice House, Clermont, FL.
