IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Clement Samuel
Powell
September 11, 1943 – March 7, 2020
Clement Samuel Powell passed away at his home in Clermont, Florida on March 7, 2020, after battling many years of various illnesses.
Clement grew up in Elsinboro Township, New Jersey, graduated from Salem High School, attended two years of vocational school and worked at the duPont company in Deepwater, NJ for 32 years. He enlisted in the Army in 1964 and was stationed in Naples, Italy for 2 years, along with his wife, Barbara and new son, Ronnie. Upon returning to the States, he returned to work at duPont.
Shortly after returning to the States, their baby daughter, Traci, was born. Clement built his family a new house in Tilbury where they lived for the next 40 years – at which time they decided to move to sunny Florida.
Clement loved to golf and spent many hours with his friends on the links. He battled many illnesses that caused him to limit his golfing, but he did not let that keep him from taking a hot air balloon ride and parachute out of an airplane.
Clement was skilled in many areas. There was never a need to hire a handy man, plumber, electrician, or carpenter because he knew how to do it all. He was proud of the beautiful Koi pond that he built in their backyard in Jersey.
Clement loved his family. His most joyous days were spent with his grandchildren, Katie and Andrew, who he loved with all his heart. He built a magnificent train track, complete with mountains and tunnels for his grandson, Drew. Clement also loved his precious Shitzu, Penney, and she dearly loved him.
Clement is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years (Barbara), his daughter Traci Powell, who he was extremely proud of, and his 2 grandchildren Katie and Drew. He was predeceased by his son Ron.
Friends of the family are invited to celebrate Clement's life on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 10:30 AM at Becker Funeral Home, 806 W Minneola Ave, Clermont, FL, 34711 followed by inurnment in Oak Hill Cemetery.
