Chester Guy Brown, 97, of Clermont, FL passed away Sunday, October 11, 2020. Chester was born on December 6, 1922 in Columbus, IN, son of Leslie Otto and Pansy O. (nee Kirts) Brown. Immediately after graduation from Columbus High School he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a plank holder on the USS New Jersey. During his participation in all the major battles of the Pacific Campaign he was awarded the Bronze Star twice. After the service he started his career in the aviation industry and retired as a plant manager for United Technology. Chester moved to Clermont in 1985, previously living in Beavercreek, OH and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Clermont.
Chester is survived by his daughter, Pamela and her husband Charles Giles of Dayton, OH; step-son, William Spicer of Lakeland, FL; grandchildren, Rachael, Sarah, Katie and Rob and great grandchildren, Bradley, Luke, Charlie, Jack, Mary and Joseph. Chester was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Frances Bohall Spicer Brown in January of 2007.
Chester will be interred alongside his wife at Oak Hill Cemetery.
