Reflections of a Life Well Lived
"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God"
Matthew 5:8
Cheryl Michelle Harrison Jackson, a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, family member, and dear friend peacefully passed away August 12, 2024.
Cheryl was born on February 29, 1960, in Kingston, Jamaica to Milton Seymour and Lois Eleen Harrison and grew up surrounded by a loving family.
At the age of eight, Cheryl and her parents relocated to Brooklyn, NY. In her formative years, Cheryl was a very independent, avid reader, and displayed her musical skills as a clarinet player in the school band. Cheryl graduated from Hempstead High School, and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Elmira College, Elmira NY. A fond memory is a European family vacation that included London, Paris, Germany and Italy.
Cheryl relocated to Washington, DC in 1985 and began a career in real estate and sales. That same year, Cheryl met the love of her life Gerard Jackson at The Classics.
On May 23, 1992, Cheryl and Gerard were married and began their lives together in Washington, D.C. The happy couple enjoyed 32 years of marriage supporting each other in their personal and professional careers, with lots of fun and laughter mixed in.
Their union was blessed with two beautiful sons, Harrison and Hunter, raising their family in Virginia close to family and friends. The Jacksons were known for hosting festive and fun gatherings that included the best comfort food imaginable and an absolute must – Maryland steamed crabs.
In 2017, as new empty nesters, Cheryl and Gerard relocated to Florida to be closer to Cheryl's mother, continue their careers and enjoy the year-round warm weather. Their special times together included traveling to campsites in their recreational vehicle, fishing, spending time at the beach and enjoying family and friends.
Throughout her life, Cheryl forged friendships with a myriad of individuals, and her infectious smile and laughter will be missed by all.
Cheryl is survived by her loving husband, Gerard; her two sons, Harrison and Hunter; her mother, Lois Harrison; her mother-in-law, Julia Jackson; and a host of family members and friends.
