Cheng Sheng Lin
January 2, 1940 – June 14, 2026
Cheng Sheng Lin passed away on June 14, 2026, at the age of 86. He died on a date that held deep meaning for his family — his and his wife Joannie’s wedding anniversary, fifty-seven years to the day since they married on June 14, 1969.
Born on January 2, 1940, in Taichung, Taiwan, to Gu Lin and Shu Mei, Lin came to the United States in 1969 and earned his Master’s degree from Kansas State University — an institution that would become woven into his family’s story, as his son Jeremy followed in his footsteps and his grandsons Johan and Zakri attend today. From there, he went on to build a distinguished career as a sanitary engineer. He served as a Vice President at Baxter & Woodman before founding Lintech Engineering alongside his son Jeremy. Widely respected throughout his profession, he was known as a leader whose expertise and integrity earned him the admiration of colleagues across the industry.
Beyond his work, Lin found joy in the simple passions that filled his days — a love of golf, the satisfaction of tending and shaping a beautiful landscape, and the pleasure of cooking for the people he cared about. Some of his happiest hours were spent skiing and golfing alongside his sons. A warm and well-liked presence in his Clermont, Florida neighborhood, he was always ready to lend a hand, and he had a gift for making those around him feel welcome.
Lin is survived by his beloved wife, Joannie Lin; his sons, Jeremy and daughter-in-law Vanessa, and Ben Lin, a mechanical engineer in whom his father took great pride; and seven cherished grandchildren: Johan, Zakri, Bubba, Lukey, Marjorie, Eleanor, and Alexander.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, there will be no formal service. Those who wish to honor his memory may send flowers to the family at 16305 Vetta Dr, Montverde, FL 34756.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
