Charles "Chuck" Reiter Wiesman March 2, 1938 – January 14, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Charles "Chuck" Reiter Wiesman, who peacefully departed this life on the morning of January 14, 2025. Born in Dayton, Ohio, to John and Thelma Wiesman, Chuck lived a life full of love, service, and dedication to his family, faith, and community.
A lifelong Catholic, Chuck's commitment to his faith was evident from his early years. He attended Catholic grade school and high school, later earning a degree in Business from the University of Dayton. Over the course of his distinguished career, Chuck served as the Executive Vice President of the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce for more than 20 years, leaving a lasting impact on the community he loved.
Chuck married his childhood sweetheart and best friend, Janie Etienne, and together they raised a beautiful family. He was a proud and devoted father to Kim (Joe Waisanen), Chip (Liz), and Tim (Angie). He also cherished the role of grandfather to five beloved grandchildren—Jack, Kevin, Tyler, Wendy, and Jack —whom he adored.
In 1997, Chuck and Janie relocated to Clermont, Florida, becoming residents of the Kings Ridge Community. There, Chuck spent his retirement enjoying his passion for golf, often found on the course in nearly every spare moment. Following Janie's passing in 2002, Chuck met and married Amelia, with whom he shared many years of happiness. Chuck embraced Amelia's children, the late Richard Meacham, Mary Ellen (Steve Ferner), and grandchildren, Richard, Wyatt, Kyndall, and Makynna, and great grandchildren, Molly and Milo Meacham. Welcoming them into his heart with open arms.
Chuck was known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering support for others. Whether lending a helping hand, offering a listening ear, or taking his grandchildren out for ice cream (his favorite treat). He and Amelia were active members of the Kings Ridge Couples Golf League. Chuck always sought to bring happiness and comfort to those around him.
Above all, Chuck was a man who cared deeply for others, making a difference in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, service, and compassion will live on in the hearts of his family and all who were touched by his kindness.
Chuck is survived by his sister Barbara "Babs" Kindell, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family, who will forever remember him as a loving brother, father, grandfather, husband, and friend. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will remain a source of inspiration and joy to all who knew him.
There will be a private family service at a later time. Chuck and Amelia have requested any donations in Chuck's honor be made out to Cornerstone Hospice, (see URL below) 2100 Oakley Seaver Dr., Clermont, Fl 34711.
