Obituary
Clermont FL, Charles Richards SR, 85, died on Thursday, August 3rd 2017.
Charles was a resident of Clermont, FL, born in Brooklyn, NY and was a longtime resident of Peekskill and Putnam Valley, NY. Charles was retired from the Mearl Corporation (Peekskill, NY) after 39 years.
He is survived by his son, Charles Richards Jr and daughter, Linda Ball, Stephen Ball; son in law, Matthew Ball, Charles Richards III, Robert Ball, and Kimberley Richards; Grandchildren. Along with his Great Grandson, Robert "RJ" Ball.
Charles was pre- deceased by his wife, Flora Richards (2013) whom which were married for 59 years.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Charles served in the United States Navy. He served his nation proud aboard the USS Caloosahatchee.
In Charles' early life, he enjoyed cruises, dancing, fishing, building, and spending time with his family. Charles was known for his polarizing laugh, sense of humor, tight hugs, and telling his grandchildren their handshakes were "almost there".
He will be deeply missed by friends and family.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 8th at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with interment to follow with military honors at Oak Hill Cemetery, Clermont. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7PM Monday at the funeral home.
