Charles was born in Casey, Illinois. His father died when he was eleven years old. He started driving tractors and grain trucks for the farmers to help out. He joined the Navy, serving on the submarine tender "USS Fulton" during the Korean War. After the Navy, he settled in Connecticut and married Julie Paparella. They had two kids; Charles "Chuck" Ramsey and Jennifer Ramsey; five grandchildren. He worked for National Laboratories as an industrial salesman. Then supervisor for the northeast district of the United States. He moved to Clermont in 1996. Married Gayle Stanford in 2002. He enjoyed travelling and cruising. A memorial service will be Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Becker Funeral Home, Clermont. A reception lunch will follow at First United Methodist Church-Clermont, in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, please give to the Mike Conley Hospice House, Clermont.
