Charles Edgar Augenstein was born September 25, 1949 and passed away January 14, 2026 after battling bladder cancer.  Charlie was born in Carmi, Illinois to Margaret Lorene Mills and Vincent Augenstein.  He had 3 brothers, Vincent, David, and Mark.  He was married to Barbara July 3, 1971 until her passing October 16, 2011.  Charlie and Barb had 2 children, Jennifer Aschermann and Wendy Augenstein (granddaughters Megan and Kate, son-in-law, John).  He married his second love, Deborah Shipton, August 31, 2013, and gained a son, Ryan and daughter, Rachel. Debi passed away December 4, 2024.

Charlie and Barb owned several businesses including Augenstein Accounting and Consulting in Bartlett, IL and Adventures in Advertising Unlimited in Louisville, KY. He explored his creative side and passion of art with Bluegrass Art. Charlie shared his photography on a variety of materials including tile art wall displays and coasters. After he married Debi, they moved to Clermont, FL. Charlie worked in hospitality at the Orlando Convention center and then as "the helpful hardware man" at Ace Hardware in Clermont.

Charlie enjoyed golf, travel, cooking, eating and listening to music. He made friends easily wherever he was, and was sure to make you laugh.
