Cecil Elwood Lakey, 91, Clermont, passed away November 16, 2011 at the Mike Conley Hospice House. He was born April 17, 1920 in Parsons, KS son of Wiley & Mary Hoops Lakey. He served in the Army Air Corp during WW2. On January 31, 1953 he was united in marriage to Lois Vance in Washington, DC. He was a retired auditor for HUD and a local resident since 1998 from Woodstock, GA. He was preceded in death by 5 siblings. Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Lois Lakey; daughters Linda (Wayne) Hurst, Suwanee, GA & Mary (Terry) Wiseman & Diane (Ed) Bethune all of St. Augustine, FL; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren & siblings Glenn Lakey, Kissimmee, FL & Don (Bulah) Lakey, Bradenton, FL.
The funeral service for Cecil Lakey will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, November 21, 2011 in the Becker Chapel. Reverend Edward C. Sattesahn, GateWay Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL with US Air Force honors. Visitation will be from 3-5 PM on Sunday.
