Obituary

Caroline Sundar was born Caroline Ramzan on May 12, 1947. She was affectionately called Lynette by family and friends. She was the youngest of three siblings (Eva, Arnold, and Lynette). She married Deo Sundar on May 9th, 1971 in Rosignol, Guyana, and gave birth to two sons, Radesh and Avindra aka Alvin.

She wanted a better life for her family and asked her brother, Arnold Ramzan, to give sponsorship to her family to start a new life in America which he did. In the early 1980s, her family relocated to North Carolina and about a year later moved to the upper west side of New York City then settled in Queens during the mid-1990s.

She worked as a seamstress before leaving her job to become a homemaker. As a homemaker, wife, and mother she was strong, capable, and strived to make life better for her family. Lynette loved children and was excited at the arrival of her first grandchild, Ryan. Ryan was born in 2004 and she relished being a new grandmother. Aden and Kyle quickly followed and filled her soul with joy that only grandchildren can bring. These boys could do no wrong.  Alvin can attest to the fact that she was "patient" and never lost her temper with them or even raised her voice much. She was always supportive, encouraging, kind, and proud of her family.

For a long time, she found sheer happiness in just taking care of her family and attending to their individual needs. She sacrificed her needs for the good of her family. Lynette will be remembered as a selfless mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend even when times were tough. She was calm and serene in her Christian faith. From her childhood onward she found peace in scriptures and held on tightly to them in her darkest hours. Her grandchildren remember her always reading her bible. She fought to hold onto every moment she was given and held onto biblical words until God called her home. She had a quiet strength and fought health struggles valiantly for a long time.

She is survived by her two sons (Radesh and Avindra Sundar), her three grandchildren (Ryan, Aden, and Kyle), her brother (Arnold), and her sister (Eva) as well as several nieces and nephews.

2 Timothy 4:7- I have fought the good fight, I finished the race. I have kept the faith.
