Carlos Lauro Castillo, Sr.

January 16, 1947 - July 10, 2023

Carlos L. Castillo was born in Corpus Christi, Texas. He passed away peacefully in his sleep at his residence in Minneola, Florida after a long battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.  Carlos graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1966 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Carlos joined the U.S. Army shortly after graduation. He served in the Army from 1966 -1969. He did a tour in Vietnam from 1968 -1969 as a Field Wireman 36K.20/ Related civilian occupation 281-821 Wireman. He was an E4 on the 4th BN14 Arty 4th U. S. Army. After returning from Vietnam Carlos worked at the Naval/Air Station CCAD in Corpus Christi, Texas from 1969 - 1970 (Civil Service) He relocated to St. Petersburg, Alaska working for the Navy 1970 -1978 (Civil Service).  He transferred to the Department of the Air Force 1978 - 2004 at Eielson AFB Alaska (Civil Service) as a High Voltage Electrician/Lineman. He retired with over 10,000 hours of total service Credits 32 + years.

Carlos retired back to his hometown Corpus Christi, Texas area. He decided Retirement was not for him so he went to spend some time with his daughter Amanda and his son Richard who lived in North Carolina. After several weeks he relocated to the Orlando Area and moved in with his oldest son Carlos Jr. from there he started working at the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority where he worked from 2005 - 2017, as an Airfield Electrician.

While living in North Pole, Alaska Carlos coached his oldest son and daughter sports Softball, Basketball and Hockey. Carlos also enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, he loved being outdoors. Carlos was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Carlos was a member of the Mason's Farthest North Shrine Club in Fairbanks, Alaska. Carlos also did volunteer work in the Community's Policing Field Training Program, in Fairbanks, Alaska also known as the VIP.

Carlos was preceded in death by his mother Jesusa Castillo and his twin brother Gilbert Castillo, both of Fairbanks, Alaska.

Carlos is survived by his wife Gloria, his 2 sons, Carlos Castillo Jr. (Cynthia) grandsons Carlos Castillo Ill and David Castillo, Davenport Florida, Son Richard G. Castillo, Clermont Florida, daughter Amanda Pritchett (Shariff Sr) grand daughter Nataylia Jalbert, grandsons Shariff "Juju'-' Pritchett Jr and Isaiah Pritchett., Jasiyah, Jariyah, and Janiyah Pritchett., Davenport, Florida, Nephew Gilbert Castillo Jr (Aimee), son Jaydon., and daughter Jenna Castillo, Menomoni, Wisconsin, Niece Corina Castillo-Shepard (Nathaniel) sons Sy/us and Elyas Shepard, Fairbanks, Alaska, stepson Sean Wrenn (Seannia) daughters Kelsey Clemmens and Kaila Stamper (Cory} son Gavin and daughter Emma Stamper Terre Haute, Indiana, stepdaughter Patricia Wrenn, son Matthew Cross and daughter Delaney Parnell, Frisco, Texas.
