Obituary

Carl Louis Palmisciano

March 4, 1937 - August 10, 2020

Carl Palmisciano was born in Bridgeton, NJ to Lawrence and Mary (nee Pipitone) Palmisciano. He grew up in the farm town of Rosenhayn, NJ. He earned an academic scholarship to Rutgers University, but chose to attend Drexel University in Philadelphia on a football scholarship instead.  Carl graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering.  He was a member of the ROTC in college and went on to become a Captain in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Reserves.

He married Domane D'Agostino in 1960 and for the next decade, they kept the stork busy bringing 6 children into the world.  They remained married for 49 years until her passing in 2009.

Carl started his professional career designing bridges for Reading Railroad. He was soon recruited by Levitt & Son's and was involved in multiple "Levittown" communities in New Jersey, New York, and Puerto Rico. He also supervised the construction of Bill Levitt's Mill Neck, NY mansion. He went on to hold executive positions with multiple housing and development companies that spanned a 35 year career.

He settled in Coral Springs, FL in 1977 (he tried to get them to change it to "CARL" Springs). In 1997, he "retired" and moved to King's Ridge in Clermont, FL.   He soon went back to work,  joining the Lennar sales team at King's Ridge and sold many of the new homes in that community. When they ran out of homes to sell, he "retired" again and spent several years volunteering at South Lake Hospital in Clermont.

Carl was very blessed to have his dear friend, Barbara Wessels in his life. He was also fortunate to have his loving family living nearby.

Carl valiantly battled Parkinson's disease for the last decade of his life. He ultimately succumbed to the disease and passed away on August 10, 2020.

Carl was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years,  Domenica "Domane", and his infant son, Dean.   He is survived by his children, Maria (John) Evans of Kingsport, TN, Jon (Lisa) Palmisciano of Coral Springs, FL, Donna Palmisciano of Boca Raton, FL, Ricardo Palmisciano and David Palmisciano, both of Orlando; grandson, Jon Carlo Palmisciano and step granddaughters, Mary Elizabeth (Neal) Maynord, Martha (Daniel) Hasty and Meredith (Will) Love, along with 7 great-grandchildren, siblings Lucy (Gap) Sparacio, Adam (Sharon) Palmisciano, and Lawrence Palmisciano, and dear friend Barbara Wessels.

Per Carl's wishes, no viewing, visitation or service will be held.   If anyone desires to donate a memorial in Carl's name, it may be made to the Mike Conley Hospice House, c/o Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Rd, Tavares, FL 32778.
