Carl Nodd, 78

Carl Stephen Nodd, 78, died November 23, 2019, with family by his side in Clermont, FL.

Carl was born on Good Friday, April 11, 1941, in Gary Indiana to Carl J and Elizabeth Kowal Nodd.

Carl was a very gifted artist. He studied at The Art Institute of Chicago. He was especially talented at painting with watercolors and acrylics. Among his beautiful works are the Advent Wreath and outdoor Nativity Scene made for the Blessed Sacrament Church in Clermont, FL.

Carl worked as a Chemical Analyst at US Steel Mill in Gary, Indiana for over 30 years. He married Janet Tovsen on May 25, 1963. The couple retired from Crown Point, Indiana to Clermont, Florida in 2000. Carl enjoyed working in his lush home garden, building furniture in his garage workshop, creating magnificent works of art and traveling with his wife.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Janet; sons Stephen (Debi) and Allan (Michelle) and daughter, Deborah; a brother, Ted (Debbie) Czernoch; and sister, Rosemary Kotrich. Carl will also be fondly  remembered by his grandchildren; Aleah Randolph, Kathleen Randolph, Christopher Nodd, Uriah Baimakovich, Isabella Baimakovich, Amy (Derek) Dalla Costa, Brittany (Robert) Summitt, Caryn (Derek) Bryant, Branden (Amelia) Siple, Justen (Rebecca) Siple, Cory (Adrianna) Siple, Uriah Baimakovich, Isabella Baimakovich and great-grandchildren; Bryce, Caleb, Caydee, A.J., Avery, Isaac, Noah, Evelyn, Elijah, Maverick, Hannah, and Taylor. He was preceded in death by his son, Carl Jr.; grandson, C.J. Biancalana; brother, John Nodd and sister, Matilda Curtis.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Carl touched are invited to services at Becker Funeral Home, 806 W Minneola Ave in Clermont, FL at 11:00 am on Friday, December 6, 2019.
