Calogero "Charlie" Taverna, 77, of Spring Hill, FL passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at South Lake Hospital.  Charlie was born on August 9, 1934 in Sicily, the son of Michele and Alfonsina Taverna.  He was a retired custom tailor in the garment industry and resided in Florida since 1998, previously living in Brooklyn, NY.  He was of catholic faith and attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Clermont.

Charlie is survived by his loving daughters, Enza Taverna and Michelle (Robert) Farrell both of Clermont; brother, Franco Taverna of Venice, Italy and grandchildren, Christopher, Timothy and Danielle.  Charlie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances in May 2011, as well as his sister, Angela Daina of Agrigento, Italy.



A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 27, 2012 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, celebrated by Very Reverend Robert E. Webster.

Entombment will follow at Grace Memorial Gardens in Hudson, FL.  Visitation will be held from 5 to 9PM Thursday at the funeral home.
