Brigitte Farrell, age 70, loving mother of two sons Robert & Daniel, and adoring wife of 54 years to husband Robert Farrell, passed away in the morning hours of June 22nd. Brigitte, also known as "Gitte" to those who knew her well, was born in 1953 in Weinheim, Germany. She was surrounded by two loving brothers, Gerhardt & Kurt, and her mother, father, and stepfather, Fritz, Ella & Lee. She moved to Long Island, New York shortly after Robert's birth and resided in Lindenhurst for many years before moving to Minneola, Florida.
She lived a very blessed life, had many friends, and made many people smile with her kindness and generosity. She was an amazing mother, and her two sons grew up to have beautiful families of their own, blessing her with five grandchildren: Christopher, Timothy, Danielle, Arina & Alayna.
She loved to travel and did so often with her closest friends: Yvonne, Walter, Mike, and Liz. She also never forgot her German roots and returned there frequently to see her friends and family. The most recent, being 2 weeks before her passing with her eldest granddaughter, Danielle.
She also was a tireless volunteer and advocate for veterans. Her husband and son, both veterans of foreign wars, made this a cause near and dear to her heart. Heading up the Ladies Auxiliary at VFW Post 5277, she spent countless hours with the VFW helping veterans and their families.
However, the greatest love she ever had was the love of her teenage sweetheart and husband of 54 years, Robert "Bob" Farrell. Their love story and marriage were a fairy tale that only grew stronger over the years. A "blueprint "for what a marriage should be. This love inspired all who met them.
Brigitte is survived by her husband Robert Farrell, her two sons, Robert and Daniel with his wife Rattanaporn, and her five grandchildren: Christopher, Timothy, Danielle, Arina, and Alayna. She is also survived by her brother Gerhardt, her brothers-in-law, Tony and Thomas, her sisters-in-law, Sonja, Gail, and Ann Marie, and her nieces and nephews, Cathy, Gary, Alexander, Micheal, T.J, Ryan, Melissa, Anthony, Nicholas, and Michael.
