Bradley M. Bunker
November 6, 1952 - August 26, 2024
Bradley M. Bunker passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 26, 2024, at his residence.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda Bunker of Minneola, FL; daughter Kari Ann Bartley (Cody) of Fort Wayne, IN, daughter Erica Bunker of Columbus, OH, and son Adam Bunker (Dana) of Peoria, IL.
Brad was born in Vallejo, California, where his Dad was serving in the Navy. Throughout his childhood he lived up and down the coast of California and also a few years were spent in the Philippines. Once his Dad retired from the Navy they moved to Colorado where Brad graduated from High School. Eventually Brad ended up Central Illinois where he graduated with a Political Science Degree from Illinois State University in 1974. He was hired by Caterpillar Inc., that same year. He worked there for 35 years before retiring in 2009. While working at Caterpillar he met his wife Linda.
After retiring, Brad and Linda moved to Florida, where they joined Living Hope Church in 2010. Brad fulfilled his retirement goal by working at Walt Disney World from April 2013 to August 2017. Brad worked at the Yacht and Beach Club Resort in merchandise his entire career. Thanks to his time at Disney, he and Linda enjoyed many vacations on Disney Cruise Lines.
One of his favorite pastimes since moving to Florida was spending time playing card games and board games with his two nieces; Darelyn and Andrea. Brad would refer to them as either his Number 1 or Number 2 niece. It was always a fun, consistent joke amongst the 3 of them.
His favorite time of year was football season. He was a loyal San Francisco 49ers fan, but him and his daughter, Kari Ann, went to as many live games as possible to cheer on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New England Patriots. They also attended Super Bowl LIV (54) in 2020. That was the year his beloved 49ers were in the Super Bowl. He was so excited to be at the Super Bowl that he wasn't even upset when his team lost.
Brad will forever be remembered as an exceptional Father and fun loving Husband. He will be missed by his family and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 14, 2024, 1pm, at Living Hope Church in Clermont.
