IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bonita Rogene
Kletzka
November 22, 1933 – September 26, 2019
Bonita Rogene Burtt Spence Kletzka, 85 years old, formerly of Clermont and most recently of Ormond Beach, Florida peacefully and joyfully touched the face of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 26, 2019.
Bonny, as family and friends called her, was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania on November 22, 1933 to Mildred Ann Hall Burtt and Louis Gregory Burtt. She and her family moved to Michigan in the late 1040's and resided in both Ann Arbor and Detroit, where she graduated from MacKenzie High School in 1951 and the Henry Ford School of Nursing in 1955 as a registered nurse. She married Richard Irvin Spence in 1957 and they raised three children. She returned to nursing in the 1980's and took roles in the Public Health sector, the American Cancer Society and the nursing home industry. In 1984, she moved to Florida and resided in Safety Harbor and then Clermont. She continued using her talents as a compassionate professional in home-health care and eventually as a Hospice Nurse where she found great joy and purpose working with patients who were nearing the end of their earthly lives, as well as their families. In 1994, Bonny married Arthur William Kletzka. They were faithful members of First United Methodist Church in Clermont, enjoyed gathering and entertaining with friends and family, and periodic travel to Fort Myers, Florida and Michigan.
Bonny was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy L. Burtt, her parents, and her husband, Arthur. She is survived by her children; Gary Spence of Daytona Beach, Florida, Cathryn Vasey (Brian) of Leesburg, Florida and Gregory Spence of Leesburg, Florida, two grandchildren; Sarah Thomas of Austin, Texas and Andrew Thomas of Winter Park, Florida, as well as two siblings, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
