Obituary

Bobby Gene Ray, age 89, Clermont, passed away March 31, 2017. He was born March 3, 1928 in Montezuma, NC son of Roberta Braswell & Edward Ray. He served in the US Navy & attended Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. A longtime Clermont resident, he was a rancher & teacher in North Carolina & Alaska as well as Winter Garden. He attended South Lake Presbyterian Church & was a member of the Cattleman's Association and past president of the Clermont-Minneola Lions Club.

Surviving are his wife Bonnie Ray; daughter Virginia Ray & son John Ray, both of Jacksonville & son Bill Ray of Ocala; 5 grandchildren; sister Margaret Evelyn Randall of Lillington, NC; step-children Gregory Homan & Susan Northcutt both of Clermont & Sandra Jolley, Cocoa Beach, FL; 7 step-grandchildren & 6 step-great-grandchildren.

The memorial service for Bobby Ray will be held at South Lake Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Cornerstone Hospice, 5601 S. Orange Ave., Suite 5655, Orlando, FL 32806.
