Billy George "Coach" Kuykendall , age 73, of Clermont, FL, formerly of Winter Garden, FL, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 14, 2012. He peacefully passed at home surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born on April 30, 1938 in Clayton, AL. Survived by his loving wife Donna of 45 years, children Mike (Kim), Michelle, Terry (Becky), grandchildren Ben (Katie), Emily, Chelsey, Katelin, Mikayla, and many nieces and nephews. Sisters Nita Houston (Joe), Libby Read, and brother Louis Kuykendall (Marilee). Preceeded in death by his parents George and Ethel Kuykendall, brothers James and John, sisters Florence McMillan and Lois Jahn. After graduating from Lakeview HS in 1957 he then went on to college at FSU and Jax State AL. earning his B.S. degree in education. Bill also earned his Masters Degree from Rollins College. Bill started his coaching career in North Florida, returning to Central Florida to continue coaching and teaching at Ocoee High School and Ocoee Middle School. Bill's career of 27 years allowed him to influence and touch many lives, mentor students and achieve many championships. Bill enjoyed family, golf, fishing, gardening and travelling and served in the Kiwanis Club. Bill was a Baptist Sunday school teacher and deacon with a strong faith that he instilled in his children and grandchildren. Coach was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend who will by greatly missed by all.



There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 2:00pm, Powers Drive Baptist Church, 3311 North Powers Drive, Orlando, FL 32818. There will be a reception immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Bill.
