Betty VanDyke passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family, on Thursday November 5 th , 2020 in Groveland, Florida at the age of 80.

Betty is survived by her spouse LeRoy VanDyke, son Mark VanDyke, daughter-in-law Sheri VanDyke, grandson Brett VanDyke, granddaughter Amber Eickhoff, grandson-in-law Ray Eickhoff, and great-grandchild Chase Eickhoff. She is preceded in death by her mother Gertrude Begeman, father Fred Begeman, and sister Mary Ann Janus.

Betty was brought into the world in 1940 to Fred and Gertrude Begeman. Concerning her professional life, she worked as a bookkeeper for Gallagher & Henry Builders based in the suburbs of Chicago. She married LeRoy VanDyke, whom she met through a group of mutual friends in Palos Hills, Illinois in 1964 and they were married for 54 years. Throughout her life, she enjoyed experiencing new places, having owned homes in Illinois, Kentucky, and Florida. Some of her favorite activities included going boating on the lake, window-shopping at any store she could get LeRoy to walk through, gambling in Las Vegas and Biloxi, and going on cruises in the Caribbean.

Betty's wake is scheduled for Tuesday November 10 th , 2020 between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM with a service following the next day, Wednesday November 11 th beginning at 12:00 PM, at Becker Funeral Home in Clermont, Florida. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Betty's life.
