Bernardo Soler, Jr was granted his angel wings on January 7 ^th , 2021 after a battle with Congestive Heart Failure.  His final days were spent surrounded by his family filled with love.

Bernardo was born on November 9 ^th , 1943 in Santuce, Puerto Rico to Bernardo and Zoraida Soler. He was the second child in a family of six. His family was a military family that relocated to Lawton, OK in the 1960's. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his younger brother Edgardo Soler.  His remaining siblings include Ada Soler, Maria Schaff, Clara Cremeans, and Zoraida Morales.

In Lawton, that was where he met his loving wife Brunilda. They were married in 1966 and raised two children. They celebrated 53 years of marriage in 2020. During their marriage, Bernardo was a devoted partner and military spouse to Brunilda during her military career. With countless moves and transitions, he weathered everything with a stoic perseverance that helped maintain our family unit.

While residing in Lawton, OK, Bernardo learned his passion for cooking. Starting with a civilian cook's position at a Ft Sill, OK mess hall, his career continued throughout the years at various military bases. Once retired, Bernardo relocated to Clermont, FL with his wife, where they have resided for 21 years. Here he made many friends who had become an extended family. He enjoyed a peaceful life, taking pride in maintaining his beautiful yard, caring for his dogs Oreo and Kitt, and enjoying his greatest passion, his grandchildren.

Bernardo leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife Brunilda, his children, Bernardo, and Teresa, two beautiful grandchildren, Sophia, and Benjamin. He is also blessed to have a wonderful, loving extended family that includes all his siblings, in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on January 19,2021 at 11am at Becker's Funeral Home, 806 W. Minneola Ave, Minneola, FL 34711 352-394-7121.
