Benjamin was born in Winnie Palmer Hospital in Orlando, Florida on February 28, 2019 at 12:00 midnight. He went to Heaven on January 9, 2020. Benjamin attended a local daycare in Clermont where he spent most of his days. He was so loved and treated like one of their own and the entire staff has become part of our family.

Benjamin was the son of Taylor Gathye and Noah Smith, little brother to Cameron Shenington-Gunn, grandson to Tony and Teresa Gathye and Steven and Tammy Smith, and great grandson to Shirley Smith. He was also a nephew and cousin to many.

His favorite foods were sweet potatoes and apple-chicken, he loved playing with his big brother and climbing on Mommy and Daddy. Benjamin did not crawl until recently but scooted around everywhere and could clearly say MaMa and DaDa. One thing everyone knew about Benjamin was that he was always smiling. His sweet soul touched so many and he will be missed by all.

Benjamin's memorial service will be held at The Church at South Lake on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. After the service, family members will be welcome at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will be celebrating Benjamin's life at First United Methodist Church in the Social Hall after returning from the cemetery. First United Methodist Church is located at 950 7th Street, Clermont, FL 34711. Everyone is welcome to attend.
